Ellipse IPL

Ellipse IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) systems are used to treat a wide range of skin conditions safely and highly effectively. We use the latest generation Ellipse IPL system for targeted, customised treatments with optimal results.

The Ellipse IPL is one of the most sophisticated systems available and is highly effective in photorejuvenation, hair removal, treatment of acne and vascular lesions.

Photorejuvenation

Our skin changes with age. It becomes thinner and loses its smoothness, and unwanted pigmentation and small vessels can appear. Over time, sun exposure on our face, hands, arms and chest can accelerate the signs of aging.

Sun damage can result in a variety of vascular and pigmented lesions, including:
  • Dark spots
  • Freckles
  • Age spots
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Diffuse redness

Fortunately, you can rejuvenate your skin and maintain a younger and fresher look with the Ellipse IPL treatment. This treatment rejuvenates sun-damaged skin resulting in clear and bright skin by delivering short bursts of light that directly target the blood vessels or melanin within your skin. The wavelengths are absorbed by the hemoglobin in targeted blood vessels and melanin in freckles, sun spots or other pigmented lesions.

What to expect:
You may notice a slight darkening of some pigmented spots for a few days following treatment which will slough off after about 5 days leaving you with clearer, smoother and fresher skin. Number of sessions required depends on the extent of sun-damage / pigmentation.

Vascular lesions
Vascular lesions are collections of dense, small blood vessels that are located in and below the skin. They can appear anywhere on the body, and can be caused by sun damage, genetic factors, rosacea or aging. And they can occur in a variety of forms, including:
  • Diffuse redness
  • Unsightly leg veins
  • Hemangiomas
  • Broken capillaries

The system operates by delivering pulses of energy that directly target vessels within the skin, resulting in the reduction of the impacted vessels.

What to expect:
Smaller vessels can disappear immediately after treatment; larger ones fade away more gradually over the next few weeks. Number of sessions required depends on the extent of the vascular lesions.

Facial and body hair reduction
Ellipse IPL treatment can remove unwanted hair in variety of areas, including:
  • Upper lip
  • Brow shaping
  • Underarms
  • Back
  • Legs
  • Bikini area

The system reduces unwanted hair by delivering short, safe bursts of Ellipse IPL directed at the target site. The emitted light is absorbed by pigment (melanin) in your hair. Melanin converts the light into heat, which travels down the hair towards the root and heats the hair matrix, preventing future hair growth.

Acne treatment

Acne occurs when sebaceous glands overproduce an oil substance called sebum. When extra sebum gets trapped in hair follicles, the skin can become irritated-leading to the appearance of pimples. When left untreated, some types of acne can cause permanent scarring. Ellipse IPL treats acne by reducing the blood supply to the sebaceous gland to slow down the production of sebum.

    What to expect:
  • Your skin will appear clearer and less oily after a series of treatments. The number of sessions required depends on the extent of acne.
  • If you have sun-damaged skin with dark spots, some of these pigmented spots may turn slightly darker for a few days following treatment then slough off and lighten after about 5 days.
  • Continuation of topical treatment may be recommended for some months after Ellipse IPL sessions to prevent acne recurrence.
